Correction: An earlier version of this episode mentioned that the former dean of Universidad del Mar, Héctor Zúñiga, had been sentenced to 8 years in prison. However, Zuñiga has not been sentenced. Furthermore, in February 2016, newspaper La Tercera reported that the investigation into profiteering by several Chilean universities, including Universidad del Mar, could be closed in the coming months because in Chile, “profiteering is not considered a crime”. We regret the error.
