In the last two and a half years, our team has doubled in size, our revenue grown significantly, and we are developing new, exciting projects for the second half of 2023 and beyond. As we hire our first dedicated development position, we are seeking someone who can dream big, quickly turn ideas into clear and compelling proposals. The right candidate can manage long-term strategies and plans, and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves in an ambitious non-profit media organization serving a diverse and highly engaged audience.
The Development Coordinator will help the organization achieve its financial priorities. They will bring skills and expertise to develop and implement a fundraising strategy with the support of foundations, government grants, and corporate and individual donors. In conjunction with the executive team, the Development Coordinator will play a vital role in expanding the funding base of Radio Ambulante Studios, writing grants, managing and overseeing all aspects of our fundraising strategy, while developing meaningful relationships with strategic partners to further advance our mission.
An ideal candidate must believe in the mission of Radio Ambulante Studios, understand the important role stories can play in the life and culture of a community, and be able to articulate the significance of the project to potential funders in both Spanish and English. We are looking for a person who has contacts with foundations in the United States, and is comfortable in the role of spokesperson and champion for a new journalistic venture.

The salary is $65,000 – $90,000, depending on experience.

We merge the immense talents of Latin American journalists with sophisticated audio production aesthetics to produce two award-winning shows, Radio Ambulante, distributed by NPR, and El hilo, co-produced with ViceNews
Our journalism offers a sonic portrait of the region, with stories coming from everywhere Spanish is spoken. With over 230 episodes produced by Radio Ambulante and 150 by El hilo, Radio Ambulante Studios has not only been a pioneering force in Spanish-language audio storytelling but also has been able to engage listeners and break down cross-border issues on a deeper, authentic level.
We have worked with dozens of media outlets across the United States and Latin America. With Radio Ambulante, we have produced episodes with NPR, The New York Times, Radiolab, This American Life, Planet Money, All Things Considered, Reply All, ESPN’s 30 x 30, PopUp Magazine, California Sunday Magazine, Latino USA, Rough Translation, Univision, Centro de Periodismo Investigativo de Puerto Rico, Las Raras Podcast and 070, among others.
