Even though Camila has spent most of her adult life in academia, after obtaining her PhD in literature from Columbia University, she realized radio was her true passion. She has been working for years as a freelance editor and translator, and now she has joined Radio Ambulante’s team where she is closer to her real interests. Currently she lives in Bogota with her husband and daughter Carmen.

Producer and Editor
I’ve always worked with one foot in films and the other in journalism. I’ve done a lot of different things for the screen, from documentaries to writing feature films. As a journalist, I’ve worked in several Puerto Rican newspapers and magazines, until I started collaborating with Radio Ambulante and became obsessed with the idea of producing radio stories with this team.
I live in San Juan with Lucienne, my girlfriend, and our daughter Jimena.
I was born in Santiago, Chile, and I grew up dreaming about persecutions and sounds of shrapnel. The first significant present I received as a boy was a camera, and at that moment I began to dedicate myself to capturing images. Later on, I started telling stories. I traveled to California following promises of gold. After working in a hundred different fields, I studied film. Some years ago, I stumbled upon radio, we liked each other, and since then I use sound to tell the stories that follow me.
