Santiago and Oscar are Venezuelan, two of the thousands of people around the world who write and edit the articles we read on Wikipedia. They don’t get paid; they do it because they believe in the power of the encyclopedia to change people’s lives, especially in Venezuela. But when their country began to collapse around them, Oscar and Santiago’s work on Wikipedia began to be seen as a threat, and they had to decide whether it was worth continuing.
