A Superpower

How can I answer you if I don’t understand the question?
Jeanne and her husband live in New York, and when they became parents, they always knew the plan: they would speak to their child in Spanish. And that’s what they did with Martin, their first child: Spanish at home, with his grandparents, in his nursery; while outside of their family bubble, he listened to English. And everything was going well, until the pandemic hit. Isolated from everything, Martin learned only Spanish. And when he returned to school, Jeanne and her family encountered a problem they thought no longer existed in the city.
