Ferpect Escape*

To escape… From what? From where? From who? A person might want to escape from many places or situations. Physical, emotional, or mental escapes. Someone might also seek to escape unfavorable, dangerous, violent, or unjust situations; and also misery, indifference, corruption, intolerance, and the list could go on.

You need resources and time to plan the moment of escape. For example, much has been said in recent days about the incredible second escape of El Chapo Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico, and one of the most wanted fugitives of the FBI and Interpol. According to Univision reporter Maria Antonieta Collins, the elaborate plan to escape from a maximum security prison involved “a group of specialist engineers, including topologists who used satellite positioning calculations, someone provided the plans for this maximum security prison and the sales of houses around the prison are being investigated.”

But there are other escapes that are not that methodical. There’s no time. No resources. There is only survival instincts in the moment. Either you do it or you don’t. The precise timing. This is what Maria Clara had to face. It could have happened to anyone in that taxi and at that specific time. But it happened to her.
